Testimonials
We at Express Electrical approached the Lennox Partnership through Forward Training after we identified a shortage of both skills & labour required in our manufacturing department. We were given first class advice before we interviewed a number of young candidates for the posts. The successful candidates supplied all the necessary opportunities to progress by both Express Electrical and the Lennox Partnership with Modern Apprentiship courses being undertaken. We now have a couple of new full-time employees and thanks to the advice they have had from the Lennox Partnership are fufilling our requirements. We would have no hesitation of using the Lennox Partnership in the future. Sven Lister, Express Electrical
David, 16 was participating on GRFW when he registered with The Lennox Partnership, looking for assistance with finding a construction based Modern Apprenticeship, ideally Plumbing, Joinery or Painting & Decorating.
With assistance from West Dunbartonshire Council’s Get Ready for Work programme, David started a work placement with J & B Scenery based in Alexandria. Here he received on the job training in the construction of sets and scenery for use in theatre, television and movie productions.
Speaking with James Baxter, the owner of J & B Scenery a few months after David had started, he mentioned that he had been very impressed with how much David had learned and his attitude towards the job. So much so in fact that he was prepared to offer David a full time position with the company as an Apprentice Joiner.
The only problem was that James had never employed a member of staff before - all his staff were self employed. As well as this, James would also require assistance with securing a Modern Apprenticeship for David - another first for the company.
Having sourced employer/employee information from Business Gateway Dunbartonshire for James such as PAYE, National Insurance, Employee Rights, etc and having put him in contact with the Construction Industry Training Board, he was now in a position to offer David a full time job with J & B Scenery.
James also received an Into Work Fund Grant from The Lennox Partnership to assist with some of the costs associated with employing a new member of staff.
David is now well into his studies at Clydebank College and is well on his way to becoming a fully qualified Joiner and James is happy that he has been given the opportunity to retain a hard working and enthusiastic member of staff.
